FIELD: electrolytic processes. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling pressure in electrolyzer producing hydrogen and oxygen upon electric current-mediated degradation of electrolytic liquid, which electrolyzer contains hydrogen and oxygen- producing sealed pressure electrolytic cell, hydrogen line to take off hydrogen from the cell into hydrogen accumulator, oxygen line to take off oxygen from the cell, and a means to supply electrolyte into the cell. Invention provides maintaining specified pressure difference between hydrogen and oxygen lines when oxygen and hydrogen pass through one or more spring bypass valves, pressure in hydrogen line being applied to the spring side of bypass valve.
