MECHANIZED RACKS OF DRILLING RIG Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: drilling rig equipment. SUBSTANCE: this relates to equipment for drilling deep oil and gas wells. Mechanized racks have ramp with built-in trough pivotally connected to derrick of drilling rig. Connected to derrick rig at both sides of ramp are right-hand and left-hand racks of framed structure. Mounted on racks is gantry crane movable along gallery. Cantilever parts of racks are connected with rack supports, and pivotally mounted in their lower parts are platforms with screw jacks. Pivotally mounted between racks is tipping platform which is extension of ramp. Working horizontal position of ramp and tipping platform is fixed by lock. Work zone of racks over perimeter is guarded by hand-railing. Design of mechanized racks ensures full power operation of delivering casing and drill pipes to drilling platform level by means of gantry crane and permits reduction of service team by half with no need of boom crane in pipe handling procedure.
