FIELD: organic chemistry, insectoacarorepellents. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing the preparation based on N-(α-hexylhydroxymethyl)-caprolactam. Method involves interaction of N-methylolcaprolactam with hexyl alcohol in the presence of concentrated hydrochloric acid and isolation of synthesized N-(α-hexylhydroxymethyl)-caprolactam from reaction mass. Preparation is obtained by mixing N-(α-hexylhydroxymethyl)-caprolactam with additional agent. The latter is 0.5-5.0% an aqueous solution of polyamide ammonium salt of copolymer of maleic anhydride and styrene rarely cross-linked with ethylene glycol taken at amount 70-80% of basic substance. Apparent dynamic viscosity of 1% an aqueous solution is 90 mPa x s, not less. Preparation is used as repellent against blood-sucking Arthropoda. EFFECT: improved method of producing, enhanced effectiveness of preparation.
