FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene copolymers containing up to 70 wt % of rubber product are prepared by graft copolymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in absence of oxygen in water-emulsion medium in presence of preliminarily prepared butadiene-based rubber latex and under influence of radical-type initiator and in presence of molecular weight control agent (dodecylmercaptan or octylmercaptan) followed by distilling off unreacted monomers, coagulating resulting copolymer latex with aqueous coagulant solution, separating copolymer from aqueous medium, washing, and drying. Process is distinguished by adding hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution simultaneously with coagulant in amount determined by a math formula. EFFECT: copolymers have no unpleasant smell at processing temperatures above 180 C and retain a good compatibility with other polymers, possess increased impact resistance and improved workability. 4 cl, 2 tbl
