FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying trial laser coagulation to changed and neighboring healthy portion of retina periphery with argon laser radiation of 0.06-0.5 W power, 0.05-0.1 s exposure time, 100-200 mcm diameter of spot in focus. The produced clots having clear-cut boundaries and uniform color, peripheral chorioretinal dystrophy of the growing-white-without-additional-pressure type. If the clot has uncertain boundaries, non-uniform color and requires more large power for being produced, than that on the neighboring healthy portion, retinoschisis is diagnosed. EFFECT: reliable differential diagnosis; enhanced effectiveness of therapy tactics.
