FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology, and can be used for diagnosing "white without pressure" retinal degeneration. That is ensured by localising a degeneration region by the presence of hyperreflexivity within photoreceptors in peripheral optical coherence tomography. A hyperreflexivity height is measured in a degeneration myoid-ellipsoidal area and in an adjacent healthy area of the retina. If their relation is equal to 1.2 and more, "white without pressure" retinal degeneration is diagnosed.
EFFECT: invention enables more accurate diagnosis of "white without pressure" retinal degeneration, as well as provides choosing a therapeutic approach to the patient with this pathology.
