FIELD: catalysts for organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: carbonylation catalyst useful in carbonylation of methanol into acetic acid, acetic anhydride, or both contains polymer carrier having side pyrrolidone groups and covered with rhodium particles. Other polymer carriers are considered capable to resist carbonylation temperatures as low as 150 C, for which rhodium content in reaction mixture higher than 500 ppm is recommended.
