FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: device for methanol carbonylation contains reactor for carbonylation of methanol or its reaction-able derivatives, including catalyst, selected from rhodium, iridium catalysts and their mixtures, and activator of methyl iodide in reaction mixture with acetic acid, supplying unit for supply of carbon monoxide and methanol or its reaction-able derivatives into reactor, evaporation unit for reception of reaction mixture flow and its separation into first liquid reused flow and unpurified technological flow, which contains acidic acid, first distillation column, connected with evaporation unit and adjusted for separation of low-boiling components, including methyl iodide, from unpurified technological flow and formation of purified technological flow, with first distillation column, reactor and evaporation unit functioning with formation of exhaust gas flow, containing volatile organic components, including methyl iodide, absorption column for reception of exhaust gas flow and removal of methyl iodide from it with washing solvent and connected with the sources of first and second washing solvents providing supply of different first and second solvents for purification by washing, and system of communication for alternating supply of first and second washing solvents into absorption column from the source of first washing solvent or the source of second washing solvent. Also described is method of obtaining acetic acid by carbonylation by means of claimed device.
