FIELD: power engineering; engines operating in cyclic process. SUBSTANCE: gas-liquid solution, such as nitrogen-butane solution, is used as working medium. Working cycle takes place in retrograde condensation region. Chamber volume in first working space rapidly adiabatically expands, pressure drops, steam performs mechanical work during steam expansion. Fast expansion causes retarded condensation. During short-time stop, medium in external dead center transfers to steady position and since isobars on phase boundary are broken, pressure abruptly rises. Then condensed steam is set to initial pressure and temperature again. EFFECT: improved operating reliability. 2 cl, 9 dwg
