FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has left and right plant top dividers 1 and 2 with spread aside tips, cutting-grinding unit having horizontal shaft 3 with knives 4, housing 5 with plant tops receiving window 6, pneumatic throwing pipe 7 for discharging ground plant mass. Shaft 3 is mounted within housing 5. Pneumatic throwing pipe 7 is connected with its one end to housing 5 and with its other end is pivotally connected to harvesting unit. Apparatus is further provided with inclined board positioned above dividers 1 and 2 and adapted for inclination of plant tops in forward direction during advancement of harvesting unit. Board overlaps with its sides the inner working surfaces of dividers. Inclined board is formed from two parts 8 and 9 arranged in overlapping relation one with respect to another for regulated withdrawal of board. Angle of inclination of board relative to horizontal plane may be adjusted depending on plant height. Constant position of window 6 during lifting (or lowering) of pneumatic throwing pipe 7, when apparatus is to be adjusted for required plant cutting height, is provided by members 10 and 11, 12 and 13 of left and right housing walls 5, whose length may be regulated. Inclined board is pivotally connected to lower cut of member 10. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and reduced loss of plant stalk mass. 2 cl, 2 dwg
