FIELD: storage and utilization of heat energy in the form of phase transformation heat, first of all means for storage of latent heat for heat accumulators for storage and utilization of heat of exhaust gases of engines of railless ground vehicles with engine output drive. SUBSTANCE: heat-retaining mixture contains hexohydrate magnesium and lithium nitrate in weight ratio 86-81:14-19, preferably eutectic mixture in weight ratio of 83.7:16.3. Method for production of heat-retaining mixture includes melting of mixture of hexohydrate magnesium nitrate with melting heat of 100-135 J/g and lithium nitrate in weight ratio of 86-81:14-19 in closed vessel with degree of fullness not more 70% of its capacity.
