LAYOUT OF TRAFFIC SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REGULATION OF TRANSPORT-PASSENGER TRAFFIC FLOWS IN MEGAPOLICE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: traffic systems in large cities. SUBSTANCE: traffic system of megapolice has motor vehicle, tramway, trolleybus, railway, and metro lines laid for example in radial and circular structural scheme with passing through central part of city. Also included in aforesaid scheme are elevated roads, railway and bus stations, airports. Arranged around megapolice is high-speed circular highway for vehicles with linear electric motors. Basic part of transport-passenger traffic flows is transferred from one terminations to periphery, then over high-speed circular highway and further from periphery to other terminations. Traffic flows from terminations to periphery and from periphery to terminations are effected by general urban transport facilities at average travel speed adopted for urban network of roads. Traffic flow on high-speed circular highway is effected for example by magnetic transport system at travel speed at least twice as high as on urban roads. EFFECT: high efficiency. 2 cl, 7 dwg
