SUBSTANCE: traffic complex of a city, metropolis includes roads and highways for motor and other types of transport, including the ones joined into a radial-ring system, as well as engineering facilities. Traffic complex of a city, metropolis additionally comprises at least one road for motor transport or combined for various types of transport, arranged with closed contour, which breaks the city or metropolis territory off-centre. Specified road is arranged with tangential adjacency to one of circular roads of radial-ring system and/or crossing one of ring roads of radial-ring system. Method for control and relief of city or metropolis traffic flows includes efficient redistribution of traffic flows by means of traffic lights in roads and highways of above-specified traffic complex.
EFFECT: reduced level of road occupation, improved environmental safety and traffic safety.
