FIELD: equipment for automatic fish positioning relative to its plane of symmetry and cycled feeding of fish to fish-processing machine. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has fish feeding chute conveyor and charging conveyor arranged below and transverse to chute conveyor and adapted to feed fish to fish-processing machine. Charging conveyor has supporting conveyor with supporting members onto which headless fish is laid with its abdominal cavity for further positioning. Catching member arranged between fish feeding and charging conveyors is cyclically controlled for releasing fish temporarily retained in catching member. Working cycle is varied in accordance with measurement data, such as fish size. Thus, each fish is strictly positioned despite its size, i.e. position of fish abdominal cavity relative to supporting members is taken into account during feeding of fish onto supporting conveyor.
