FIELD: composite materials. SUBSTANCE: fiber-reinforced porous sheet consists of sporadically arranged fibers joined in crossing points by spherical drop-shaped joining elements made in the form of approximately spherically shaped drops of thermoplastic fiber-enveloping resin. Fibers are high-modulus ones selected from the group including carbon, glass, and arylamide fibers. Porous sheet is manufactured by mixing reinforcing fibers with thermoplastic fibers, formation of linen from sporadically arranged fibers, heat treatment, joining fibers, and cooling. According to invention, mixed are 20-60 wt % of discrete high-modulus reinforcing fibers 1-8 cm long and 40-80 wt % of thermoplastic fibers with thickness exceeding 0.5 denier and length from 1 to 50 mm. Surface weight of unit surface of linen ranges from 0.25 to 1 kg/sq.m. Composite shaped from porous sheet has stretching strength within the range (0.91-2.1) x 103 kg/sq.cm. EFFECT: improved consumer's characteristics. 2 dwg
