METHOD OF TREATING AUTOIMMUNE DEFICIENCY SYNDROME (AIDS) Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: AIDS treatment. SUBSTANCE: method consists in liberating patient of various viruses, including, and first of all, AIDS producing retrovirus (HIV), cells contaminated by these viruses, and associated microorganisms by means of plasmasorption using individually prepared for each patient immunoadsorbents which are enhanced by covalently bound glucoprotein isolated from human placenta and manifesting elevated affinity to AIDS retrovirus. Blood purification procedure involves plasmophoresis directly after plasmosorption while simultaneously replenishing blood plasma with equal volume (1000-1200 ml) of plasma substitute in the form of rheopolyglucin and once more applying plasma sorption using fresh immunosorbent. Blood purification procedures alternate with applying specific immunostimulation using autovaccine prepared in each separate case on the basis of UV inactivated blood culture from given patient. In the late phases of AIDS development, blood purification and specific immunostimulation using autovaccine are performed via replenishment of macrophages and helper T cells damaged under AIDS conditions by way of intracostal transplantation of umbilical cord blood from umbilical cord cut off upon childbirth, in which all necessary stem cells-hemoleucopoesis precursors are present. EFFECT: facilitated blood purification procedure.
