FIELD: technology of repair and reconditioning of friction surfaces of machine elements, in particular, in agricultural production. SUBSTANCE: the method provides for preparation of the shaft surface to working, surfacing of compensation binding material and subsequent heat treatment. After application of compensation material the shaft to be reconditioned is heated by high-frequency currents to a temperature exceeding phase transformation temperature AC₃ by 50 to 100 C, and reduction of the built-up material simultaneously with reduction of the shaft being reconditioned is performed. After reduction the built-up surface is chilled. Material with a melting point not exceeding the quenching temperature of the material of the shaft being reconditioned is used as binding material.
