FIELD: automatic control; failure detection in power distribution systems of flying vehicles using backup power circuits. SUBSTANCE: method involves measurement of controlled variable and its comparison with reference value. Current is supplied to main and backup circuits and converted into magnetic fluxes as it flows through main and backup circuits of each switchgear installation. Then magnetic fluxes are subtracted in pairs from main and backup circuits, value obtained is compared with reference value and fault is recognized by its excess over reference.
