METHOD FOR APPLYING MEDICINAL LEECHES TO TREAT A PATIENT Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying leeches on biologically active points pathologically or reflexogenically related to function of injured organ. 2 to 52 leeches are applied in one session. The number of sessions varies from 31 to 366. The treatment is carried out daily or in discrete mode. Discrete mode involves applying 50 continuous sessions in daily mode and 2-5 sessions per 1 week during the following 6-8 weeks. To enhance effectiveness, it is advisable to perform preventive stimulation of the leeches with ionized hyaluronidase solution containing 32-64 effective doses in 1 l of water at 20-25 C or vinegar solution under concentration of 2-4 g per 1 l of water at the same temperature. Severe pathologies being the case, it is advisable to set leeches in medium (water) identical to their habitation (aqueous) medium. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of method. 3 cl
