FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to gynecology, and can be used for applying leeches to uterine cervix in the treatment of chronic recrudescent HPV-associated cervicitis. For this purpose, leeches are applied to an area with pathological changes to exocervix, namely, to the iodine-negative area, ectopia, Ovuli Naboti, endocervical cyst, in the amount of 3–5 leeches with the maximum exposure, the number of sessions is 10–20, at a frequency of 1 a week, during 3–6 menstrual cycles.
EFFECT: method provides increased effectiveness of treatment of chronic HPV-associated cervicitis due to the direct effect of a leech secret on the pathological area, improving microcirculation therein, as well as antiviral and immunomodulatory effects with complete or partial pathogen elimination and cervical epithelium restoration.
