FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves depositing aluminum gas thermal coat and low-carbon or wear-resistant steel coat by spraying on portion of lower part of crystallizer wall, with length of portion being equal to 0.15-0.2 of wall length and thickness of each coat within the range of 0.05-0.1 mm; spreading coat by rolling along the whole length over area defined by equally spaced portions with coat squeezing of 30-50%. Width of rolled coat area is determined by ratio of , where Bo, B is width of rolled and sprayed portion, respectively, mm; is microhardness of sprayed steel and copper wall, respectively, MPa.
