FIELD: furniture production. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying cold-hardened glue on layers of cardboard or cardboard-like fibrous material; coiling cardboard strip to form hollow coiled workpiece; joining by pressing and forming during pressing operation; removing from mold by withdrawing core; subjecting to hardening to obtain laminated shaped bodies of furniture pieces. Molding is effectuated between inner and outer forming members. During process, workpiece is perforated or provided with folds and/or core, keys, inserts for screws etc. Prior to hardening process, spacers are mounted and fixed by clips and glued with following mounting of sides on open ends of coiled workpiece. Workpiece is divided into parts and slots are cut in parts to form gaps. Apparatus has accumulating roller with rotational drive, strip material pulling device, guiding rollers, glue spreading roll arranged between rollers, workpiece coiling core and core drive. Strip material pulling device has sensitive member connected with accumulating roller rotational drive. Leading and tailing guiding rollers are equipped with retaining planks. At least one guiding roller positioned in the vicinity of glue spreading roll is equipped with device for lifting and separating material strip from glue spreading roll or for bringing them into contact. Strip coiling core is made from members positioned for limited movement one relative to another. Furniture or furniture part is made from compound fibrous binder-impregnated material. Layers are pressed together. Furniture part is composed of coiled workpiece or part of coiled workpiece.
