PROTECTIVE SHIELD Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: automotive industry; protection of engine compartment from dirt and moisture. SUBSTANCE: shield is made to suit shape of hole in side member in form of resilient flexible plate with outer end face slot for fitting in hole. It has variable thickness in cross section increasing from central part to edges. Shield is provided with side boss and longitudinal hole in minimum thickness central part made in direction of movement of steering rod. Round cavity with interrupted partition is made on side boss to pass dust separator of steering rod rack. EFFECT: improved convenience of servicing of engine compartment. 2 cl, 3 dwg
