CONVEYING FEEDING CHAIN Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: commercial poultry farming, in particular, feed dispensing devices for batteries and other poultry keeping units with trough-type feeders. SUBSTANCE: conveying feeding chain has closed pulling device connected with drive and scraper members attached to pulling device. Pulling device is defined by chain, having rectangular links made from round section rods, and cylindrical sleeves. Each chain link carries scraper member made in the form of curved plate. Curved lines extend transverse to chain axis to divide scraper member into three portions, which are oriented in different ways relative to feeder bottom. Front portion of scraper member is positioned in bottom plane. Mid and outer portions are inclined relative to feeder bottom and rear edge is positioned in common plane with front portion. Longitudinal opening is made in central part of scraper member. Configuration and size of longitudinal opening correspond to that of rectangular link of chain, whose side rods are extending along sides of longitudinal opening. Front edge of scraper member is at least 2/3 of its width and has portion beveled by 45-60 deg. Length of front and rear rods of rectangular link may be increased to value corresponding to lengths of related edges of scraper member. Conveying feeding chain is further provided with detachable connecting link. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 7 cl, 1 dwg
