METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISPENSING FEED TO FARM BIRDS KEPT IN THREE-STAGE BATTERY Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: broiler breeding and layer hen keeping equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves dispensing feed only to feeders of two upper stages arranged at the leading part of battery; moving feed over upper stage floor up to the tail part of battery and discharging from upper stage feeders into lower stage feeder; moving feed over lower stage feeder up to leading end of battery at speed exceeding speed of feed moved in upper stage feeders with following joining this feed with feed supplied for dispensing. Apparatus has hopper arranged at leading end of battery, feeders with auxiliary troughs positioned at one side of battery and two feed collectors. One feed collector is positioned at tail end of battery and is provided with charging windows at the level of upper and middle stage feeders, discharge window above lower stage feeder and auxiliary charging window with cover. Inclined guiding plates are positioned within this feed collector at an angle not exceeding 40 deg to vertical plane. Guiding plates adjoin to feed collector walls from three sides. Other feed collector is arranged at leading end of battery and is provided with charging window joined with lower stage feeder. Guiding troughs are mounted within this feed collector at an angle of 40 deg to vertical plane so that they adjoin to collector walls, whose lower edge is mated with charging window of bucket-type elevator shaft. Drive for feed dispensing plane-link chains of upper stage feeders is positioned at tail part of battery and drive for chains of lower stage feeders and elevator - at leading part of battery.
