FIELD: medicine, ophthalmosurgery. SUBSTANCE: the given instrument deals with extracapsular cataract extraction at the stage of nucleus removal. It has a holder and curved tubular body the working part of which has an edge irrigation opening. Working part is designed as a half-loop with a bend at its end. The bend is performed at an angle of 90 deg. to half-loop plane and at 0.4-0.5 mm above it. At the same time axis of the bend and that of a holder should be in one plane. EFFECT: decreased number of operational and postoperative complications, decreased terms of operation due to more maneuvering instrument of higher efficiency.
