FIELD: separation of loose materials in mining, construction, metallurgical industries, agriculture and other branches of national economy. SUBSTANCE: screen has box whose bottom is provided with sieve, with its convexity downward. Central part of box bottom having sieve is made in form of round flapping membrane with a certain force value needed for its operation. The method of screening of loose material by its periodic throwing up on sieving surface of loose material includes imparting of forced vibrations to sieving surface with preset values of amplitude and frequency and simultaneous additional jumpwise periodic motions in direction coinciding with direction of forced vibrations, for which purpose, amplitude and frequency of forced vibrations are selected in compliance with the preset analytical dependence.
