FIELD: thermal power plants used as drives for various machines. SUBSTANCE: thermal engine works on industrial gases and gases of heating systems which are fed to accelerate chamber through guide apparatus at an angle relative to direction of rotation where heat is removed from it at simultaneous expansion. Released heat is converted into rotary motion; radial velocity of flow is increased inversely proportional to radius of rotation in acceleration chamber over entire path and height of flow is increased inversely proportional to reduction of density. Angle of rotation is maintained below 40 deg and difference of pressure between inlet and outlet sections is maintained equal to or lesser than tangential component of dynamic pressure flow. After expansion and action of velocity head on blades of turbine, working medium is compressed, after which it is heated and again expanded at removal of heat. Method is accomplished with the aid of thermal engine made in the form of circular acceleration chamber formed between two circular planes changing into axial direction at outlet. Guide apparatus is mounted at chamber inlet. Gas turbine is mounted at acceleration chamber outlet. Passed through gas turbine, flow enters axial-flow compressor where it is compressed and is discharged outside; power is transmitted to consumer and to compressor through turbine shaft.
