FIELD: leak detection in pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: leak detector has channel of image of pipe with leak and channel which determines leak location. This channel includes display 2 which indicates distance to leak point on its screen and infrared imaging chamber 1 made as light-to-signal transducer using the multisectional matrix of instruments with charge coupling connected to display with one of its outputs and with other outputs, to unit 3 of measuring the video signal and accumulation period. Output of unit 3 is connected to speed computer 4 the outputs of which are connected to inputs of timer on-off unit 5 and distance computer 7. Other input of distance computer 7 is connected to timer 6 and output, to display connected to timer on-off unit 4. EFFECT: more effective construction. 4 dwg
