FIELD: physical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method consists in measuring the contact difference of potentials between metal specimen which is measuring electrode of capacitive sensor and comparison electrode of sensor. Prior to first measurement, measuring electrode is cleaned by degreasing of surface, treatment with adsorbent having developed adsorbing surface and washing with highly volatile reagent. Before second measurement of potential contact difference, measuring electrode is kept in liquid under test up full adsorption saturation. Adsorption properties of liquid are determined when contact difference of potentials changes. When measuring of potential difference, measuring electrode is brought in contact with rotating comparison electrode. Device has stationary measuring electrode, moving comparison electrode, power supply source, amplifier and zero level indicator. Comparison electrode is rotated by synchronous electric motor.
