PREPARATION OF METALLIC PART SURFACE FOR DETECTING BURNS BY MEASURING ELECTRON LIBERATION Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC G01N13/00

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in degreasing part surfaces, prior to measuring electron liberation work, by flushing them with solvent "Нефрас 50/170", GOST 8505-80 (State Standard) with addition of 1-2 wt % of antirust additive "АКОР-1", GOST 15171-78. Then, the part is flushed with cold running water, wiped by clean napkin and dried for 30 minutes by dry compressed air at 10-20 kPa from cylinder or compressor. Then, it is wiped by tampon wetted in petroleum ether 70-100 Specs 6-02-1244-84 and dried in air at room temperature for, at least, 10 minutes. Then, part surface cleanliness is controlled by measuring contact potential difference by instrument furnished with measuring probe of pure nickel. Said contact potential difference for titanium alloys should equal, at least, 240 mV.

EFFECT: higher reliability and validity.
