FIELD: high definition TV systems. SUBSTANCE: method involves splitting frequency bandwidth of transmitted signal into adjacent sub-bandwidths SB1, SB2, SB3a, SB4, SB5A, SB5B, SB1-SB6, independent encoding 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 of transmitter signal with highest definition in each sub-bandwidth, multiplexing 1 of sub-bandwidths using separation of signals which are encoded in each sub-bandwidth into non- simulated synchronization units. For each decoding receiver method involves decoding 38-44 of received signals which belong to each sub-bandwidth taking into account only sub-bandwidths which are necessary for decoding of at least one definition type.
