FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out autopollination of two dioecious diploid strains, saturating male sterile lines with the produced pollinating lines, crossing pollinating lines with male sterile lines and selecting the best ones by their combination capacity. The best of so produced pollinating lines are crossed with each other within one of strains by applying free pollination method to produce synthetics. Then male sterile lines of one strain are crossed with pollinating lines and/or synthetics of the other strain and vice versa (in reciprocal way) and reciprocal recurrent selection is carried out at least twice to reach high productivity of male sterile hybrids. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of method in sugar beet selection.
