FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: method is distinguished by preliminarily affecting lube fractions by continuous radiation at 0.2-5.0 mcm wavelength with power 20-100 W, while lube fractions are fed into laser radiation action zone in laminar mode. Feeding lube fractions is advantageous to be effected with constant velocity at temperatures within 30-50 C range favorable for better fluidity. Laser treatment is followed by treatment with selective solvent. Method results in increasing yield of product to 64.5-65.0 wt % and decreasing content of sulfur to 0.6 wt % and content of tarry substances to 0.6 wt %. EFFECT: increased yield of product and improved its quality characteristics. 3 cl, 1 dwg , 5 tbl
