METHOD OF SYNTHESIS OF PHENOL, ACETONE AND α-METHYLSTYRENE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2108318 C1

FIELD: chemical technology, organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to petroleum chemical synthesis, in part, method of synthesis of phenol, acetone and alpha-styrene by cumene procedure. Decomposition process is carried out by acetone feeding in reactor are cumene hydroperoxide is decomposed by the following algorithm: α where: Ga = Gch •0,125 [ch] + (35/Gch[ch]), - amount of acetone feeding for decomposition of technical cumene hydroperoxide and acetone, t/h; Gch, Ga - concentration of cumene hydroperoxide in technical cumene hydroperoxide, mas. p. Decomposition of cumene hydroperoxide and cumene dicumylperoxide is carried out under similar pressure (4-5 atm) in mixing reactors where cumene hydroperoxide is decomposed, and in displacement reactor where dicumylperoxide is decomposed. Decomposition of cumene hydroperoxide is carried out under conditions near to isothermal at narrow temperature range 65-75 C. Concentration of nondecomposed cumene hydroperoxide at outlet from mixing reactors block is determined by temperature difference T1 at inlet and outlet of specially fitted mini-reactor (calorimeter). Water is fed to displacement reactor at amount 100-500 kg/h that is determined by value of temperature difference [ch] at inlet and outlet from specially fitted calorimeter at products removing from circulation contour after mixing decomposition products with water and time of products stay in mini-reactor for 7-8 min. Process of cumene hydroperoxide decomposition is operated through relationship of values ΔT2 and ΔT1 so that value ΔT2 is maintained by 0.2-3 C above that of ΔT2. For elimination of nondesirable by-side reactions occurring at acetone distilling off from products reaction ammonia is fed before apparatus of acetone evaporation at molar ratio ΔT1 : H2SO4 = from 1:1 to 1:2. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 1 tbl, 2 dwg
