FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for acid decomposition of technical cumene hydroperoxide in series-arranged reactors at high pressure and high temperature while feeding into the reactors an additional amount of acetone calculated using the fed hydroperoxide while controlling the hydroperoxide decomposition process. The hydroperoxide decomposition process is controlled based on simultaneous determination of the value of concentration of the products: cumene hydroperoxide, dicumyl peroxide, dimethyl phenyl carbinol, alpha-methylstyrene, cumene, phenol, acetone, acetophenone and water, in real time, determined by spectroscopy.
EFFECT: carrying out the disclosed method in said conditions improves the accuracy of controlling the process and enables to carry out the process in optimum conditions with improved safety.
