FIELD: railway track repair and maintenance technology. SUBSTANCE: this relates to determination of rail curvature under loaded wheel, bending moment, stress from rail bending, relative rigidity and modulus of elasticity of rail base. According to method, measured is relative displacement of three points located on rolling surface of rail head in zone of resilient deformation occurred close to point of applied wheel load. Relative displacement of three points is determined continuously in process of moving loaded railway car. Recorded on tape of track testing car in zone of resilient deformation of rail under loaded wheel and beyond aforesaid zone is relative displacement of three points. This allows for exclusion of influence of rolling surface irregularities. Basing on measurement results, calculated are curvature of rail under loaded wheel, bending moment, stress from rail bending, relative rigidity and modulus of elasticity of rail base.
