FIELD: self-defence means. SUBSTANCE: electric shock device uses a storage battery, voltage inverter raising the battery voltage up to 600 to 6000 V, reservoir capacitor and a high-voltage transformer connected in parallel with the capacitor via a spark gap, whose firing voltage is lower than the inverter output voltage by 15 to 30%. Besides, the circuitry involves an additional reservoir capacitor connected in parallel with the main one via a diode so that it could be charged from the voltage inverter; the high- voltage transformer is made as an auto-transformer, whose central tap is connected to the common electrode of both capacitors and inverter. One injurious electrode is connected to the finish of the autotransformer high-voltage winding, and the other - to the point of connection of the additional capacitor and diode. To eliminate the residual direct voltage across the injurious electrodes, the second injurious electrode may be connected via a spark gap, whose firing voltage is two-three times higher than the inverter output voltage without any load. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
