FIELD: biotechnology, antibiotics. SUBSTANCE: method involves growing the culture-producer of species Streptomyces fradiae on fermentation medium of the following composition, g/l: beet molasses 23-27; wheat flour 13-17; corn gluten 8-12; soybean oil 4-6; animal fat 4-6; feed yeast 2-3; calcium carbonate 1.8-2.2; ammonium hydrogen phosphate 0.8-1.2; sodium chloride 0.8-1,2, and water - up to 1 l. Growing is carried out at 35-37 C for the first 10-12 h followed by temperature decrease to 28-30 C for 4-6 h and maintenance at this level up to the end of process. Aeration level is 0.5-0.6 l air/min/l medium for the first 24 h followed by increase to 1.0-1.2 l air/l/min/l medium for 2-5 days and the following decrease to 0.7-0.9 l air/min/l medium and maintenance at this level up to the end of process.
