FIELD: textile engineering. SUBSTANCE: head comb has carrier body with fittings accommodation part and rear part. Carrier body has two end heads positioned for sliding along guides and engaged with endless drive member. Combs are adapted for returning over their opposite side. End heads have at least one pin with at least one sliding zone coming into contact with sliding guide and at least one attachment zone. Attachment zone is engaged with carrier body of head comb to support sliding zone. Method involves manufacturing carrier body by cutting it from extrusion molded blank; making end heads in the form of pins and inserting them into slots of carrier body. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 52 cl, 17 dwg
