FIELD: simulated fire, applicable for training in methods and habits of bullet firing and for optimizing of radiation forming systems on a target. SUBSTANCE: the method involves forming of shot simulating laser radiation in the firing line and reception of laser radiation on simulated target. A matrix of coordinate plates furnished with corner reflectors is used as simulated target. Shot simulating laser radiation is formed proceeding from the condition of provision of equality of the cross-section area of the beam in the plane of simulated target and the area of the surface of the coordinate plate, and the beam power-proceeding from the condition of its excess over the excitation threshold of mechanical vibrations of coordinate plates as a result of uneven shock-wave heating of their surface by laser radiation; then the power of received laser radiation is transformed to the amplitude of vibrations of coordinate plates at a frequency individual for each plate. Simulated target is additionally sounded by radiation of the metering laser. Sounding radiation reflected and modulated by vibrations of plates is received in the firing line, and the frequency of received signals is measured. The accuracy of hit is determined by the value of the measured frequencies. EFFECT: enhanced speed of transmission of data on the results of fire in the firing line, and reduced consumption of energy and materials. 1 dwg
