FIELD: organic chemistry and technology. SUBSTANCE: 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-chloroethane (HCFC 133a) is synthesized by hydrofluorination reaction in gaseous phase of trichloroethylene in the presence of Cr2O3-base carrier-catalyst. Working time of catalyst can be prolonged by its feeding into reactor for hydrofluorination by parallel addition of compound 133a at small amount (7-25 mole% with respect to a mixture with trichloroethylene) with trichloroethylene.
