FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: isopropyl alcohol is obtained by sulfuric acid hydration of propylene. Crude alcohol having pH of 9-13.5 is treated with hypochlorite solution determined by any well known methods. Crude alcohol is then rectified. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method.
