FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: charging apparatus has truncated cone with opening it its top and suspended from hollow bar. Installed under truncated cone base is funnel. Internal hollow of cone generator has bowl with additional cone suspended from bar passed through hole of hollow bar. Truncated cone base comes in contact with bowl and forms lower gas seal together with bowl and additional cone. Installed also above opening of truncated cone is funnel with round discharge opening located coaxially with respect to bar axis. Installed above funnel are receiving funnels with gas cutoff valves which form upper gas seal. The apparatus may supply the charge uniformly over the circumference, separately to axial, periphery and intermediate zones of furnace top, and may charge the charge uniformly over circumference and radius onto axial and intermediate zones of furnace top. In addition, the apparatus monitors the level of charging of the top furnace axial zone. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 6 dwg
