FIELD: laser engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is implemented in solid-state lasers whose laser pin is built around ionic crystals activated by ions of rare-earth elements possessing specific properties. Pin is placed between laser mirrors and irradiated by pumping radiation. Content of mentioned rare-earth elements within pin volume is chosen to be not than molar per cents; while pin is irradiated, pumping radiation is equalized throughout pin volume so that rate of pumping and pumping pulse length meet desired conditions.
