FIELD: metallurgy, metal continuous casting. SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of fuel gas in shell of swirled flow of mixture of oxidizer and fuel gas to channel of casting nozzle on the side of its outlet. Gas-oxidizing mixture after encountering the stop which is installed in a spaced relation above casting nozzle spreads in flat fan-shaped flame. The device for embodiment of the offered method has successively installed under casting nozzle; refractory tube and gas burner. Refractory tube is installed in a spaced relation to nozzle and burner. Casing embracing burner and tube has pipelines located tangentially. Pipeline outlets are located at the level of gaps. Gas mixture flowing out of pipelines forms swirled flow. EFFECT: provision of proper heating of casting nozzle and tundish bottom. 2 cl, 2 dwg
