FIELD: iron powders. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to iron powders useful as magnetic materials, catalysts, adsorbents, reinforcing additives, and drug fillers. Mixed are iron ion-containing solutions, polysaccharides, and, as precipitator, oxalic acid aqueous solution, acetic acid, and one-, two-, three-, or polyatomic alcohol. Iron oxalate precipitate is dried in air and then thermally decomposed under hydrogen atmosphere at 300-400 C. Iron powders with particle size 0.05 to 0.3 mcm can be additionally magnetized to enhance their bactericide activity in magnetic fields 130-200 kA/m. EFFECT: improved preparation procedure. 4 cl
