FIELD: food industry, brewery. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new strain of yeast used for beer production. Yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae D-202 is isolated from bottling beer keg and deposited in VNII of Agriculture microbiology of Russian Academy of Agriculture Science at N 11. Strain shows high physiological and biochemical enzymatic activity. Fermentation time is decreased by 40%, terminal fermentation degree is increased by 4.9%. EFFECT: new strain indicated above, improved technology and quality of beer as compared with the known strain 308. 1 tbl
