FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: visual stimulation of children is performed by switching-on and off of light source under conditions of external illumination within the range of 0-2 lx in two stages. First stage includes from 2 to 15 daily procedures consisting in stimulation carried out by series of periodic switching-on and off of stationary light source. Every series of first procedure includes from 10 to 30 on-off operations for the time of 1-2 to 4-5 s and from 20 to 100 on-off operations within above-indicated time in every series of last procedure increasing the number of on-off operations from first procedure to the last one. Second stage includes from 10 to 30 daily procedures consisting in stimulation performed by series of periodic displacements of light source in horizontal direction from right to left and from left to right, with light source switched on-off periodically for 1-3 s. Duration of every series is from 2 to 10 min, and it increases from the first to the last procedure. Method realization device has light source 6 connected to switch 7. In addition, it has pulse generator 1, pulse sequence-to-position code converter 2, conversion direction control unit 3, position code-to-light source linear displacement converter 4, and commutator 5 with corresponding connections.
