FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing to a patient color stimuli of purple, sky-blue and blue spectrum bandwidth with frequency of 0.2 -0.5 Hz alternatively on both eyes. Data are received from the patient concerning the nature of seen picture from the point of view of observed spot color, outlines and shape. When purple color stimulus being shown and the patient observes round red color spot of fuzzy outlines and bright red spot in the center surrounded by a purple rim, and when showing sky-blue or blue stimulus, concentric rings-like spot having alternating sky-blue and blue colors from center to peripheral part with pulsation effect, the function is evaluated as normal one. When purple color stimulus being shown and the patient observes irregular gray or black spot of fuzzy outlines or no spot, and when showing sky-blue or blue stimulus, no spot is observed, the state is evaluated as dysfunction. Then color stimulation is carried out using the same spectra and frequencies. The device has spectacle rim with oculars and photodiodes mounted therein of different radiation wavelengths. Each ocular has light-scattering reflector. The device has power supply source and control circuit with brightness control unit. Setting oscillator and frequency divider, control unit, commutator of frequency divider, color commutator, timer unit, brightness control, two coincidence circuits and inverter unit.
